Warwick born and raised. You may find art and items from my travels in the house but currently Im back in my Home town of Historic Warwick.
My favourite things to do in the house are either reaxing in front of the log fire aka/ cowboy TV or cooking a nice big meal with some fresh herbs and veg from the garden and having some friends over to eat it. While I'm cooking I usually have the digital radio connected to the Bang and Olfsen sound system tuned into BBC Radio 6 music.
Number 18 is an ideal open plan space for entertaining in any month. In the summer the decking and twin back doors create a great indoor-outdoor flow and in the colder seasons the thick pile rug and log fire create a cosy and comfortable feel. Chess and Scrabble are my favorite board games, which are right next to a selection of my percussion instruments which can be fun for a group to have a play with after a few beers. My favorite movies are Fight Club, Leon and Greenmile which you might even find DVD copies of under the TV.
Around Warwick I like to try different local beers, as a brewer myself I can assure you that you will be hard pressed to find a bad beer in this town. Personal favourites are Saddleback Session Ale by Slaughterhouse and Lawless Lager by Purity. I love to get about by bicycle in the local area, you dont have to go far to find peaceful green spaces such as the Grand Union Canal which you can ride North to the Hatton Arms pub or South to Leamington Spa. I offer a bicycle rental service for guests with a small fleet of 6 bikes, please enquire for more details. If after all of that you have worked up an appetite I recommend The Old Forpenny Shoppe, Tasca Dali or Vivannti for food. I hope you enjoy your stay and dont forget to leave a comment in the guest book.

Our family goes back at least four generations in Warwick, my great great grandparents lived in the Tudor cottage on the right of the entrance to Stuart Close and my grandparents lived in number 14 Stuart Close and bought the house from new in 1973. Stuart Close is built on an old rag and bone yard from the early 1900's so when we garden we always find old pottery and glass, its fascinating.
My favourite part of the house is the kitchen which was installed in November 2022, I love the lights in the cupboards and drawers and the big island which is great to sit at and have a coffee with friends. The house has a lovely relaxed and homely feel and the art work makes it interesting and fun. The location is fantastic being able to walk to the pub at the end of the Close, The Castle Inn is a favourite, it's a lovely friendly pub with a quiz every other Tuesday and great food. I love being able to walk into Warwick town centre so easily and go to a variety of coffee shops, the Rose and Crown and the Oken Tea Rooms are my favourite especially sitting outside on a sunny day.
There are some great walks from the house, I always do a lap of the racecourse when I want some exercise and fresh air. St Nicholas park is great for children with lots of rides and boats/kayaks/swans to hire on the river, we have had some fun days kayaking up the river to the Saxon Mill (a lovely pub well worth a visit). I also like to go into the Castle entrance only three minutes walk from the house and walk in the woods or along the footpath up to the ticket office, you get great views of the gardens.
